Hostinger from real use: VPS, business email and hPanel
This website runs on a Hostinger VPS, and its email lives there too. What setting it up was actually like, what I liked, and what to watch out for.

This website, its blog and its contact email all run on Hostinger. This is not a lab benchmark. It is what using it for a real, live project looks like.
What I use
- A VPS running Ubuntu. It hosts the Node.js app behind this site, a MySQL database and Nginx.
- Business email on the domain:
contact@ahmed-adil.com. The site sends request notifications and confirmations from it. - hPanel, Hostinger's control panel, for the server, the domain and the email.
What I liked
The browser terminal saved the day. During setup I needed to change server settings before my own SSH access was ready. hPanel has a terminal that runs in the browser, so that was a two-minute fix instead of a support ticket.
SSH keys and the firewall are in the panel. You can add a key or open a port from the dashboard instead of digging through config files, which is friendly if you are not a full-time sysadmin.
Email authentication is done for you. The Domain settings page showed SPF, DKIM and DMARC all set up, in green. Those three records are what keep your emails out of spam, and many hosts leave them to you. (How to check yours: business email on your domain.)
A VPS gives you room. When you control the machine, you can run exactly the stack your project needs and keep each part separated.
What to watch out for
- Intro prices vs renewal. Like most hosts, the first term is usually cheaper than the renewal. Check the renewal price before you choose a long or short plan.
- The panel sells a lot. Banners and offers are everywhere in hPanel. Ignore what you don't need.
- A VPS is your responsibility. Updates, backups and security are on you. If you don't want that, managed or shared hosting is a better fit. More in shared hosting or VPS.
Who it suits
- Developers and small teams who want a VPS with a friendly panel.
- Businesses that want hosting and professional email from one place.
- Not ideal if you need a fully managed setup and never want to touch a server.
FAQ
Is Hostinger good for websites in Saudi Arabia?
It works well for this site, which serves visitors in Saudi Arabia. Pick the server location closest to your audience that the plan offers, and measure your own site's speed after launch.
Can I host several websites on one Hostinger VPS?
Yes. With a VPS you can run several separate sites, each with its own app process and database, behind one web server like Nginx.
Does Hostinger email include SPF, DKIM and DMARC?
On this account, the email domain settings showed all three configured. Always check the status page for your own domain.
